Is anyone else receiving the warranty robo calls? I am. And I even complained about it to the FTC since my number is on the do-not-call list. I have received 2 calls and filled out the necessary paper work to file a complaint. The follow up on my filing, I got a letter this week stating that my calls did not violate the law yada yada yada. I’m guessing it is due to the fact that one of the questions was, did the caller leave a phone number or email address to opt out. I didn’t listen to the entire call so I couldn’t tell you for sure. I’m guessing they give the benefit of the doubt to the caller.

About a month ago I gave a lightning talk at a local IgniteIT Event. I haven’t done a lot of public speaking so I was a bit nervous going in. But the people that I was with stated that the talk I gave was pretty good. I assumed they had been drinking heavily so I couldn’t trust them that much.

But now the 5 minute talk is on the intertubes for all to see. So here it is, enjoy.

A good time waster for your Saturday morning.

Every once in a while one of the LUG lists that I am on decides to have a big dick contest and everyone shows off who has the better uptime. Its actually a way of generating traffic on mailing lists that have greatly suffered any sort of reasonable traffic in a while. Its the same as starting a vi vs emacs flame war. No one really wins, but it always gets people contributing to the list.
